Networked Communication

Critical thinkers [1] of networks emphasize that they are by nature "nodocentric". This means that they pursue the commodification of artifacts (information, knowledge, people, resources in general) into nodes of the network. This order is said to be the subordination of the social to the economical.

Social Interaction

This means that networks run on self-interest, because by interacting in the network que keep our individual goals and we don't re-negotiate them by interacting in it; instead the networking system does the rest through search and aggregation, matching the individual with other people with similar interests. The ultimate critique is that networks don't establish authentic bonds between people since the social is subordinated to the economical.
